My Take
I began this series because the first book was set in the Caribbean, where I was currently vacationing. I liked it so much I went on to devour the rest of the series. Set in the early 1800s, these are regency romances with magic. The magic system contains eight talents, therefore eight books. They don’t need to be read in sequence, though the main characters do show up in other books in the series. Each romance was different as were the surrounding plots. Some were darker than others. All were great reads.
