The midlife romance was a nice change, the characters were fun — I would love to go to the bar featured in the series — and the few sex scenes were easy enough to skim over as desired.

The Legend of ZERO
I read the first three books in this series so long ago I can’t remember when. But I remember that I LOVED them, so when I saw a fourth book, I had to get it. Glad I did.

Crowns of Nyaxia
I’ve been looking at this series for a while and decided to take the plunge during a Kindle Unlimited special offer. I think my instincts were right. The books are well-written, I like the characters, the stories and the magic systems are interesting. They’re not fabulous and that’s okay.

Looking over the nearly 130 books I read this year, these are the ones that were most memorable. Maybe not the best, or the worst. Just memorable.
The Empyrean
PSA: Cliffhangers ahead. I’m not reading any more of this series until it’s finished, if then. A lot of promise, not so much reward. At least it’s on Kindle Unlimited, so it’s “free.”
