Noteworthy Books of 2024
Once again I looked back over the past year and these are the books that stuck out to me, in no particular order. Perhaps thanks to being retired this was a record year: I read 130 books.

The Space Between Worlds Duology
For me these books hit the sweet spot of a well-written and intriguing story that is also informative and enlightening. Some of the best I’ve read this year.
King of Scars
I think these are the least of the Grishaverse works but still worth reading, if only to spend more time with the characters.
Six of Crows
I love a good heist story and these are. Bonus that they’re peopled with a lovable bunch of rogues that I couldn’t help rooting for. If there was another book in the series I’d be on it.
Foreigner
The Foreigner series is supposed to be her masterwork. This first novel is long on world building and internal monologues.
Snare
A fascinating look into the world of drug smuggling. Don’t ever take someone’s baggage through for them!
World of the Five Gods (Chalion)
It’s nice to read about mature characters, who’ve lived and have baggage. And atypical heroes and heroines.
