I liked the book though it didn’t hook me enough to continue with the series (at least right now).
Reading about the Norse gods from the viewpoint of someone who tells you that he can’t be trusted is different. It’s also different to see gods — any gods — not treated with reverence or at least respect.
Saylok is set in a world loosely based on Norse mythology. The plots of the two books overlap and it’s interesting to see the same events told from different perspectives.
I was really looking forward to these since the Wallander book are one of the best known Nordic noir series. I just don’t like Wallander.
