Hard to read but in a good way. So much pain. So much pain. So much frustration.

I liked it. I found it a good balance of battles versus political intrigue. Too much on either side tends to bore me.

I liked the story well enough. In fact, I liked it enough that I wanted more of the story. It felt too short.

Interesting plot twists. Not too formulaic. Not too heavy on the romance.

This isn’t a series that must be read in order, though I did. Each is a little gem in its own right.

So it made me cry. Which doesn’t happen that often and means it was effective.
