Our Italian vacation took us to Rome also, so I tried another Helen MacInnes novel set in Italy.
This was not at all what I expected. It was more about why and how someone becomes a spy rather than the actual work of being a spy.
What a time warp of a book. I read this mainly because we were heading to Venice on vacation.
This series made me think a lot, which doesn’t mean there wasn’t a lot of action and characters worth caring about.
I needed some lightness and I knew I could count on Becky Chambers for that.
I liked the totally new (to me) mythology and magic system and the characters, though I never felt like I got to know the characters, beyond Sunny.
